“Travel far enough, to meet yourself”
And so I did!
My personal experiences with witnessing the negative impacts of anxiety, depression, and trauma on loved ones around me have deeply influenced my approach and dedication to helping others. I believe that everyone deserves guidance and support in order to experience a better quality of life, and it is this belief that drives me to provide compassionate and effective therapy to my clients.
Meeting people of many different nationalities and cultures on my travels, working overseas for several years and later for several organisations centred around well-being strengthened my desire to support people, helping them improve their mental and emotional well-being.
I use various counselling interventions as it’s important to me to support clients’ unique needs most effectively. I am particularly interested in, but not limited to, aspects of expressive therapies as they have proved to be a powerful and effective tool, especially when working with children and adolescents in uncovering, expressing and exploring their thoughts and feelings and offer unique avenues for individuals to explore and communicate their emotions, and experiences in a non-verbal and creative way. I also utilise creative strategies to help adults who may struggle to articulate their feelings verbally or who have experienced trauma that is difficult to verbalize.
In my counselling practice, I am driven by a deep commitment to values that shape both my personal and professional life. Trust, honesty, compassion, self-care, authenticity, continuous learning, and commitment are the pillars that guide my work with clients. These values not only reflect who I am as a person but also inform the effective support I provide to those seeking guidance.
By listening to my intuition and staying true to these core values, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate their challenges and find healing and growth.
I am a firm believer in the positive impacts of self-care. So, in my free time, other than spending time with my family, I enjoy escaping daily busyness by spending time in nature, travelling, immersing myself in creative activities such as pottery, occasional drawing and painting, or simply sipping on a cup of coffee snuggled up in a comfy chair.
